SHND Vol XIII no 1 1985, mentionne que Josette est la fille de Jean Savoie et Anne Landry. Selon La Voix du Passé, Placide Gaudet et Bona Arseneau font erreur en disant que Marie-Josephte est fille de Jean (Baptiste) Savoie et Marie Bastarache.
Les registres de Néguac confirment qu'elle était fille de Jean Savoie et Anne Landry.
