Comments:
A ruling in his favour in 1647 gives land in Onston, Clouston and Kirkistel in Ospher. The Stenness lands came to be known as OverOnston and the part owned by the Leiths (grandfathers half-sib's family) as NetherOnston.
Family by Marion Cursetter: no daughters names records. Sons: Thomas, James (daughter Janet married John of Bigswell), Magnus, Richard, Patrick, John and George.
Legal references in 1682. In 1644/1674?, he settled parts of his lands on his youngest son Patrick. Many details on sons and their wives etc in Memos. Middle son's wife died in 1681 in child birth
