1861 Census of James and Mary's family

letter from Mrs Doris Mark (provided date of death)

Comments:
Mrs Doris Mark: James spent most of his time in Edmonton. His wife never left the Orkneys. James travelled back and forth. Edmonton map shows he owned property near his brother Allan. Referred to as ""Wild James"". Listed on parents tombstone in Stenness
5 children: James (30 Nov 1875, inherited Savedale, living in Sacramento California in 1952), John Omond (1877) referred to as ""Cousin John"" & his son Alan still lives in White Rock BC (as of 2011), Agnes (1884), Allan Edward (1886-1926), Mary (1898)
James (son of Wild James) arrived in San Francisco from South Africa three weeks after the 1906 earthquake. There was lots of work. Between moves his wife and children returned to Scotland until James was settled.
